Everything you need to know about basketball

If you are watching a basketball event for the first time, be it the NBA or another popular league, you may hear phrases that are unfamiliar to you. They are familiar to professional basketball league players. So sports commentators call some things their slang, let's list them to make it easier for you to watch an NBA stream or any other basketball broadcast.

1. Air Ball

Is an unblocked shot that completely misses the basket, rim, net, and backboard entirely.

2. Backboard

It is simply, a wooden or glass board on which a basket hangs. It can serve as an advertising space for TV channels or streaming services.

3. Backcourt and Frontcourt

The frontcourt is the half of the court on which the team in possession is trying to score. The backcourt is the half of the court that a team defends against attacks from the opposing team.

4. Baseline

The out-of-bounds line at either end of the court under each basket. Baseline and Endline are interchangeable terms depending upon which team has ball position.

5. Block

Blocked shot occurs when a defensive player legally deflects a field goal attempt from an offensive player to prevent a score.

6. Bounce Pass

A pass made by skipping the ball off the court to a teammate.
